Hamburg, Germany, May 30, 2018 – On the occasion of this year’s Rapid.Tech in Erfurt from June 5 to June 7, Simufact will present at the common booth of the CAE-Forum (2-921) the new key features of Simufact Additive 3. Furthermore, Simufact provides insights into the new functions of Simufact Additive 3.1 which will be available at the end of June. Employing Simufact Additive helps users to determine the build orientation with the orientation assistant. The upcoming version also enables to calculate the distortion compensation automatically and helps to identify manufacturing issues. In addition, the particle tracking creates history and advanced path plots.
Simufact Additive is a powerful and scalable process simulation environment for ‘first time right’ optimization of laser powder bed fusion processes. Features include the simulation of all the key AM process steps starting with ‘printing’ of the part; followed by heat treatment, cutting the part off the build plate and removal of support structures, plus heat and pressure combined processes (HIP). The simulation of 3D printing processes provides information about distortions and residual stresses in the component. The results serve as a basis for the user to meet production tolerances with appropriate countermeasures before the part is printed.
Come by at the Simufact booth (CAE-Forum 2-921) and learn more about Simufact Additive while watching a live demo. During daily presentations, Simufact also offers in insights into the practical use of Simufact Additive in the metal AM process simulation.
